We are seeking a reliable and experienced Early Childhood Development Assistant to join our team at Central Kentucky Community Action Council, Inc.

Job Summary

This is an AS NEEDED position, in the absence of a Head Start Teacher/Instructional Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing instructional experiences, under the direction of the Head Start Teacher, for preschool children, ensuring adequate development in social, emotional, physical, and educational processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of early childhood development principles.
  • Assists in planning and delivering engaging learning experiences for children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Maintains accurate records and completes required annual training and professional development hours.
  • Supports the development of English Language Learners by promoting their primary language and English proficiency.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe and healthy environment that supports the learning and development of preschool children while adhering to Head Start Program Performance Standards.
  • Collaborates with the Teacher to assess children's progress and develop targeted interventions.
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of documentation and recordkeeping tasks.
  • Fosters positive staff relationships to create a conducive learning environment.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Experience working in a team environment and with children.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
