Physician Assistant Role in Ambulatory Care

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our urology department in an ambulatory setting. The APP will be responsible for the evaluation of urology patients presenting with urgent and/or elective kidney stones, as well as management of patients following emergency care and surgery. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in nursing, national certification in advanced practice, and current CPR certification. With 2 years of experience in urology, preferably, you will be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, taking lead when necessary. Excellent clinical management skills, positive customer-focused approach, and commitment to providing excellent patient care are essential.
The position allows for the possibility to cover nearby practice locations with Monday through Friday schedules and no call. The APP will counsel patients on stone prevention, schedule patients for stone surgery, when appropriate, and coordinate care for testing for metabolic stones evaluations, collaborating with urologists, nephrologists, and other healthcare professionals. The position also involves providing direct patient care in office consultations, including assessment, workups, triage, emergency work-ins, and other patient care activities.
Requirements- Master's degree in nursing
- National Certification in Advanced Practice and current CPR certification
- Current State of CT APRN license with prescriptive authority and current DEA number
- 2 years of experience in urology, preferably
- Excellent clinical management skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
