Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at America's Best. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our stores, including personnel management and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Profit and Sales Management: Monitor and achieve profit, sales, and performance goals by reviewing the profit and loss statement.
  • Optical Department Optimization: Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Convey a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensure all associates do the same.
  • Quality Standards: Ensure quality standards are met by reviewing remakes and enforcing policies to ensure compliance.
  • Communication: Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
  • Store Promotions: Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
  • Associate Supervision: Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates and ensure the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
  • Staffing and Recruitment: Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting, and retaining a high-caliber staff.
  • Performance Management: Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
Requirements
  • Optical Sales Experience: Optical sales experience is required, with supervising experience preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, coach, and build associate relationships.
  • Store Operations Knowledge: Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills (both oral and written) for effective management of teams.
  • Customer Service Skills: Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills for planning work and continuously monitoring progress towards goals.
  • Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
