Compensation:
Competitive wages starting at $22+ per hour, based on experience.
Key Qualifications:
Ideal candidates should possess a solid understanding of aerial telecommunication installation practices and be familiar with a variety of tools and equipment. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to interpret technical drawings and adhere to safety regulations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain aerial telecommunication cables.
- Operate equipment and vehicles safely.
- Ensure a secure work environment by setting up safety measures such as signage and barriers, and manage traffic when necessary.
- Comprehend and apply separation and clearance standards.
- Work safely at heights and travel to various locations as needed.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, drug screening, and DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience in construction, particularly within the telecommunications sector.
- A valid, unrestricted driver's license (Commercial driver's license preferred but not mandatory).
- Knowledge of established aerial cable installation methods.
- Ability to climb utility poles and operate bucket trucks, working at heights of up to 40 feet.
- Capability to perform various tasks in telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new installations, cable laying, over lashing, and strand construction.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Climb in and out of various equipment (trucks, backhoes, etc.).
- Regularly lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, and bending during shifts.
- Work while wearing safety gear including boots, glasses, and hard hats.
- Be prepared for remote work, which may involve long periods of driving.
- Ability to meet specific vision requirements necessary for the role.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
