Fiber Splicer Job Description

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team. As a Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for preparing and splicing fiber optic cable within a telecommunications system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and splice fiber optic cable to ensure high-quality connections.
  • Use OTDR and fusion splicing equipment to test and verify fiber optic cable connections.
  • Read and interpret fiber matrices to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Collaborate with the team to complete daily production reports and document work performed.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of related work experience in telecommunications or a related field.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and equipment, including wrenches, drills, ladders, and lanyards.
  • Proficient in the use of telecom construction equipment, including aerial lifts, dozers, lashers, meters, plows, and other specialized equipment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, drug test, and DOT physical exam.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license for at least 2 years.
