Job Summary

The University of Virginia is seeking a collaborative and dynamic Employee Relations professional to join our team. As an integral member of the Employee Relations Team, you will work closely with the Health System to provide strategic consultative services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate employee matters and concerns
  • Conduct formal investigations into allegations of employee misconduct
  • Oversee the grievance process
  • Partner with key stakeholders to deliver appropriate employee resources
  • Provide advice and counsel to HR professionals and managers on workplace issues regarding policy interpretation and application
  • Conduct and oversee the progressive disciplinary process that includes informal levels of counseling, formal discipline and the grievance procedure process.

Requirements:

  • For the ER Associate: a High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Two years' relevant experience.
  • For the ER Consultant: A High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least four years' of relevant experience is required; a Bachelor's degree and at least four years of relevant HR experience or a Master's degree with one year of relevant HR experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal employment laws and governmental compliance requirements related to HR management and employment functions is essential.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
