Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitorial Assistant to maintain the cleanliness of our Modesto Red Shield Corps Center and ensure the proper functioning of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize all bathrooms, including restrooms and showers
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum all rooms, including offices and common areas
  • Clean all windows and mirrors
  • Remove trash and recyclables from the facility
  • Empty and rinse trash cans
  • Assist with stripping, waxing, and buffing all floors
  • Set up rooms for various programs and events
  • Order and organize all cleaning and janitorial supplies
  • Wash interior walls and windows
  • Oversee and train volunteers in janitorial duties
  • Attend all staff training and meetings
  • Assist in tracking and ordering inventory supplies

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid California Driver License
  • At least one year of experience in janitorial work
  • Experience operating a forklift and/or pallet jack

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Great communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Equipment Used:

  • Modern office equipment and relevant software
  • Relevant janitorial and maintenance equipment
