About the Role

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a critical role in facilitating educational and behavioral services for children and adults with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with School Professionals: Work closely with school psychologists, social workers, and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.
  • Implement Behavior Management Techniques: Develop and implement prevention, intervention, and consequence strategies to support students with special needs.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations and provide support to students, staff, and families.
  • Review and Implement Behavior Intervention Plans: Work with students, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement behavior intervention plans.
  • Assist with Academic Instruction: Support students in academic settings, including reading, writing, and math.
  • Document Session Notes: Accurately and efficiently document session notes and progress.
  • Collect Behavioral and Academic Data: Collect and analyze data to inform instruction and behavior support.
  • Adhere to Confidentiality Requirements: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • Pediatric Experience: Two years of experience working with children with special needs preferred.
  • Professional Standards of Practice: Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Amergis Competency Program: Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • CPR and TB Questionnaire: Current CPR certification and TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Health Certificate: Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Federal, State, and Local Requirements: Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • New Hire Training: Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively elicit and provide information to and from appropriate individuals.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in the English language and computer skills required.
