Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Precision Metal Assembly Technician to become a vital part of our team in Canoga Park, California. This position is part of a union and operates on the 2nd shift.

At our facility, we specialize in the design and manufacturing of advanced rocket propulsion systems and innovative power solutions that contribute to space exploration and national defense initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Finish-form, fit, and assemble pre-manufactured components in preparation for fusion welding, silver soldering, brazing, or diffusion bonding.
  • Align and straighten assemblies that have become distorted during previous operations.
  • Execute layout, welding, brazing, or diffusion bonding tasks to ensure precise assembly and fitting.
  • Construct assemblies from pre-fabricated parts, ensuring all components are finished, trimmed, and fitted to exact specifications.
  • Restore the original configuration of assemblies that have experienced distortions due to welding processes.
  • Assemble initial configurations and verify the final fit with other components to ensure compatibility.
  • Conduct rework and repair tasks on parts and assemblies as necessary.
  • Maintain a strong safety record and demonstrate proficiency in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in machining, fabrication, or welding environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in fitting ducts with complex bends to meet welding specifications.
  • Proficiency in cleaning and preparing ducts, flanges, and manifolds.
  • Familiarity with grinding and polishing tools.
  • Experience collaborating with welders and working with welded assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret planning documents and drawings to meet specified requirements.

Compensation:

In accordance with pay transparency regulations, the salary range for this position is $55,000 to $105,000. Please note that this range is not a guarantee of compensation, as the final offer may vary based on factors such as experience and location.
