Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and patient Caregiver - Support Specialist to join our team. As a Caregiver - Support Specialist, you will provide personal care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them to live well and achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist individuals with their personal hygiene and support individuals who may have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
- Perform all duties of the caregiver role, including but not limited to: cooking meals, administering medications, and housekeeping.
- Provide total care and assist individuals in all areas of daily living, such as feeding, changing, and transferring clients using manual lifting and lifting medical equipment such as gait belts and Hoyer lifts.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred.
- Skills: Communication, adaptability, multi-tasking, teamwork, time-management.
- Behaviors: Patient, compassionate, reliable, responsible.
- Driver's License: Held a full and valid Driver's License for at least 12 months. Permits or Intermediates do not qualify.
- Vehicle: Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance to transport clients into the community to medical appointments and other outings as needed.
