Job Title: Technical Lead - Environmental Assessment and Remediation

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join our Environmental Insurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental insurance claims from inception to closure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage environmental insurance claims, ensuring timely and effective closure.
  • Conduct site visits, take photographs, conduct interviews, and analyze existing laboratory and engineering data.
  • Review analysis and recommendations provided with the claim for accuracy and comment.
  • Provide regular status updates to clients and senior leaders.
  • Write client-facing summary reports for senior-level review.
  • Represent The Vertex Companies to clients and stakeholders in a professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering/Science, Geology, or related environmental field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Phase I environmental technical activities and assessment and remediation projects.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills in English.
  • Proficient with standard software packages, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Adobe.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to regional job sites up to 25%.

Working with Our Team

As a Technical Lead with our Environmental Insurance team, you will have the opportunity to work with senior managers to address technical issues and meet tight project deadlines. You will be responsible for walking job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain in adverse weather conditions.
