Radiation Oncology Specialist

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Radiation Oncologist is responsible for the diagnosis, management, and treatment of patients with cancer and other diseases requiring radiation therapy. This role involves utilizing advanced techniques in radiation therapy to effectively treat tumors and enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver medical care to patients in accordance with established professional standards.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records for all patient interactions and procedures.
- Participate in after-hours call coverage as required by practice protocols.
- Adhere to medical practice standards and regulations set forth by relevant healthcare organizations.
- Engage in continuous professional development to uphold certification and licensing requirements.
- Conduct diagnostic tests and assessments to confirm patient conditions.
- Administer radiation therapies, including advanced techniques such as stereotactic radiosurgery.
- Formulate individualized treatment plans that detail therapeutic approaches and medication dosages.
- Monitor patient progress consistently and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide pharmacological interventions and recommend lifestyle modifications to support patient health.
- Perform additional duties as assigned related to the position.

- Proficient understanding of healthcare operations, including electronic medical records (EMR).
- In-depth knowledge of radiation therapy methodologies and protocols.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations while providing patient-centered care.
- Competence in utilizing software applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to work autonomously and meet established deadlines.
- Skill in fostering patient relationships with empathy and compassion.
- Deliver outstanding patient service in all interactions.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations within the organization.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of a residency program in Radiation Oncology.
- MD or DO degree with specialized training and certification in Radiation Oncology.
- Engagement in ongoing medical education to fulfill certification and licensing criteria.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in diagnosing and treating cancer patients.
- A minimum of three years of post-residency experience in consultations, CT simulations, treatment planning, and patient follow-up.
