Job Title: Hotel A/R Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Hotel A/R Clerk to join our team. As a Hotel A/R Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the hotel's accounts receivable, income audit, cash handling, and reconciliations. You will also build working relationships with our Sales & Banquets team and maintain corporate files, including contracts, leases, and maintenance agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Complete the daily income audit, including counting cash
  • Facilitate Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Cash Handling, and Reconciliations
  • Build working relationships with our Sales & Banquets team
  • Maintain and review all Ledgers (Guest, City, Deposit, & Gift Card)
  • Maintain corporate files, including contracts, leases, and maintenance agreements
  • Obtain required information for processing of annual renewals of insurance policies
  • Directly assist Controller with day-to-day accounting procedures
  • Maintain and process bi-weekly payroll
  • Partner with HR to oversee benefits administration
  • Train with all of the staff in the accounting department to gain a full understanding of each of their functions
  • Assist Controller with month-end checklist
  • Assist in preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements
  • Maintain all contracts, leases, and other legal and financial records
  • Maintain summary of maintenance contracts and leases
  • Record minutes of accounting staff meetings and distribute to Human Resources
  • Sort and distribute mail
  • Maintain the highest level of employee/guest relations
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all Departments
  • Ad-hoc projects determined by Controller and/or other Executive Committee members

Requirements:

  • Ability to manage time and energies in an efficient, effective, and organized manner
  • Must be compassionate, positive, motivated, and driven
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are necessary to perform administrative and clerical duties using proper rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office, familiar with internet page browsing, and extraction of data conduct complete internet research
  • Ability to maintain strict adherence to confidentiality requirements
  • Ability to operate phones, calculator, computer equipment, copiers, and printers

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in accounting processes
  • Ability to accomplish necessary tasks on a computer
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience/training
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language
  • Hospitality experience is preferred
