We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer to join our team at the City and County of San Francisco. As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for performing complex engineering work in the field and office, supervising engineering personnel, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage engineering personnel, including consultants, to ensure successful project completion.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor environmental projects to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures to minimize the impact of City operations on the environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement sustainable practices and reduce the City's environmental footprint.
- Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for environmental improvement and develop strategies to implement changes.
- Develop and implement training programs to educate City employees on environmental policies and procedures.
- Five (5) years of verifiable professional Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering experience, including two (2) years of experience equivalent to City and County of San Francisco class 5207 Associate Engineer or higher.
- Possession of a current Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Masters degree in Environmental Engineering disciplines.
- Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering disciplines.
Some positions may require specific lifting up to 50 pounds; climbing ladders; working in high places and confined spaces; exposure to various weather conditions and outdoors; bending, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time and over uneven surfaces.
