Purpose Statement/Position Summary:

The Pediatric Radiology Nurse Specialist will focus on the Radiology Advanced Cardiac Imaging Suite for prepping patients and for PACU recovery of the cardiac patients.

They may also collaborate with a team of Radiologists, Anesthesiologists, Nurse Practitioners, Technicians, Child Life Specialists, and support personnel to assist patients in completing radiologic diagnostic studies and procedures.

Modalities include MRI, CT, and Nuclear Medicine. Duties include prepping and assessing patients, assisting with anesthesia induction, educating patients/families, procedural involvement, and providing post-anesthesia care.

Care is provided with a knowledge of developmental needs and milestones, with patients ranging in age from birth to adulthood.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

2+ year experience as an RN, Cardiac experience preferred. Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures.

Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

BSN required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California. Current American Heart Association CPR certification. Current American Heart Association PALS card.

Hours:

3/12 hour shifts with start times between 06:00-18:30

Pay Scale Information:

$89,856.00-$147,347.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.

Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
