Nursing Unit Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nursing Unit Manager to join our team at CommUnityCare Health Centers. As a Nursing Unit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical support staff assigned to a unit in our healthcare center.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of assigned staff, including establishing work assignments and priorities in relation to nursing services available, weekly review and adjustment of timecards, weekly review of time off requests, input for performance evaluations, monitoring orientation of new hires, and coaching and counseling staff in conjunction with NMO, PL, and HR.
- Performing Nurse Manager-Operation (NMO) duties in the absence of the NMO.
- Actively participating in Process Improvement strategies.
- Providing coaching/mentorship of Staff Development of Charge Nurse I and clinical staff.
- Supporting and guiding Charge Nurses through administrative and organizational growth.
- Overseeing the flow of the unit and staffing within the unit and overseeing patient scheduling as appropriate.
- Assessing the physical, social, and emotional needs of patients and families in clinics.
- Teaching and counseling patients and families concerning health assessment and care, including prevention of disease, disability, hygiene, and health maintenance.
- Participating in the identification of patient needs for referral to resources that facilitate the continuity of care in conjunction with care management teams.
- Providing direct nursing care to patients and distributing medications and treatments according to accepted standards of care.
- Completing all direct and indirect care documentation in a timely manner and ensuring patient records are current and complete.
Qualifications:
- Minimum education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum experience: One year of experience in the nursing field, demonstrating success in providing clinical care and nursing support within an organization of comparable pace and complexity.
- Required certifications/licensure: Unrestricted Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas and Current healthcare provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card obtained through approved American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
