We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wine and Spirits Sales Representative to join our team at J&L Ventures. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for maximizing sales and distribution of our wine and spirits products within assigned territories and account bases.
Key Responsibilities- Maximize Retail Sales: Implement and execute established sales, distribution, marketing, supplier, and QA program goals to maximize retail sales for your accounts.
- Class B Tier Account Management: Implement, understand, and execute established sales, distribution, marketing, and supplier goals to maximize retail sales for Class B tier accounts.
- Territory Planning and Management: Develop a thorough month-end recap of actual performance results against objectives and execute against strategic pricing standards.
- Display and Marketing Execution: Design and execute displays and marketing at retail that meets or exceeds merchandising and retail standards.
- Consumer Awareness and Purchase Intent: Increase consumer awareness and purchase intent of brands through proactive product distribution and shelf management practices.
- Quality Management: Manage the quality of all Beverage South products to ensure that only fresh and damage-free product is available for sale and consumption.
- Internal Communication: Effectively communicate with relevant coworkers, including drivers, Area Sales Managers, and merchandisers, to ensure seamless execution of sales and distribution goals.
- Driver Servicing and Account Management: Develop, mentor, and manage driver servicing account bases to improve skills, information, and teamwork, resulting in superior service and retail execution.
- Online Ordering Portal Training and Support: Partner with retailer accounts to train, develop, and ensure continued use of the Online Ordering Portal.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data, marketing data, handheld, and build sheet data to ensure proper forecasting, pre-selling, and inventory levels, maximizing effective distribution and eliminating overstock, out-of-stock, and out-of-date situations.
- Compliance and Policy Adherence: Comply with all state, local, and federal laws pertaining to the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverage products and execute all responsibilities according to Beverage South (SC) Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- 2 years of wine and/or spirits sales experience or 2 years of consumer goods experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to demonstrate professional sales and administration skills.
- Goal-oriented and able to prioritize multiple goals and strategies.
- Capable of time management, strategic planning, concise communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Physically able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds of product regularly.
