Electrical Engineer - Custom Order Design

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead and coordinate the design activities linked to the development of custom applications and custom orders of rotary products. The successful candidate will provide manufacturing and service support to troubleshoot or provide technical information for custom products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage custom order requests with the Sales group to streamline the quote process
  • Lead, organize and coordinate the project teamwork during all phases of a custom order project and communicate details to Operations
  • Research and implement innovative technical solutions to achieve project objectives
  • Take an active part in the custom order process to support the release of all deliverables linked to the project
  • Perform design work of the machinery system and components and necessary analyses based on custom order requirements and the specific application
  • Review and check drawings and take the responsibility for the design
  • Understand the engineering economics and conduct the efficiency and cost and reliability analysis
  • Implement recurring requests into Virtual Engineer and ERP (BPCS, SAP)
  • Perform follow-up tests in the laboratory and provide instructions to Manufacturing Engineering/Operations regarding any additional test requirements
  • Communicate all custom order requirements to Production and provide support
  • Create support documentation for submittals

Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering preferred. Will consider B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with an electrical background or relevant experience designing machinery or equipment products
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience using AutoCad
  • Knowledge of compressed air science or air compressor systems - desirable
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, mechanics of materials, fabrication processes, sound and vibration principles, and sheet metal and structural design on packages - desirable
  • Leadership, project management, and strong communication skills required
  • Ability to be a team player
  • Must be creative, innovative, cost driven, and have good hands-on practical mechanical skills
