Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to determine special education eligibility and develop targeted interventions to support students' academic and emotional growth.
  • Counseling and Support: Provide individual and group counseling services to students with emotional, social, or behavioral challenges, promoting healthy coping mechanisms and self-awareness.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), ensuring a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
  • Mental Health and Crisis Intervention: Serve as a resource on mental health, learning disabilities, behavior management, and crisis intervention, providing guidance and support to students, staff, and families.
  • Professional Development: Facilitate workshops and training sessions on child development, mental health, and instructional strategies, promoting best practices and staff development.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support students' educational and emotional needs, fostering a collaborative and student-centered approach.
  • Record Keeping and Confidentiality: Maintain accurate, confidential student records in compliance with policies and regulations, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism and discretion.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: Master's or Doctorate in School Psychology, licensed by the Georgia Board, and Georgia-issued education certification.
  • Experience and Qualifications: Minimum 1+ years of school psychology experience, with a strong background in assessment, intervention, and counseling.
