Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience and comprehensive knowledge of mortgage lending policies, regulations, and underwriting principles. This role is perfect for an experienced branch manager, loan officer, or senior loan processor looking to advance into a management role. Under the supervision of the regional manager, you will be responsible for the overall operations of a designated branch. You will lead and coordinate daily activities to ensure prompt, accurate information and competitive financing options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track the capture rate and ensure proactive follow-up on potential external loans.
  • Analyze program usage and profit margins for the branch.
  • Provide recommendations to the regional manager regarding necessary loan programs.
  • Participate in starts, sales, and backlog meetings with builders.
  • Attend builder events as required.
  • Oversee branch and subordinate work procedures, manage loan processing, guide subordinates on complex loans, and expedite loan closings for efficient operations.
  • Supervise a significant volume of work and staff within the assigned branch through effective leadership.
  • Communicate current mortgage rates and available loan programs to assist home buyers with their financing needs.
  • Manage and maintain a loan pipeline.
  • Collaborate with new home sales personnel to facilitate contact with buyers for loan applications and documentation collection.
  • Prepare and communicate initial Loan Estimates.
  • Prequalify potential borrowers as necessary.
  • Oversee all customer loan price negotiations.
  • Manage the overall loan transaction by liaising with applicants, processors, underwriters, and creditors to resolve application-related queries.
  • Ensure timely scheduling of loan closings to meet the needs of builders and borrowers.
  • Maintain an active NMLS and Florida Mortgage Loan Originator License (or be able to obtain one).
  • This position requires onsite presence.
  • Willingness to travel to Builder Communities within the Home Builder Division.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent specialized training from a two-year college or technical school, combined with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience; supervisory experience; and a thorough understanding of branch operations, loan processing, and underwriting principles.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate information in relation to lender requirements and underwriting guidelines; customer-service focused with the capacity to manage challenging situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with diverse individuals both inside and outside the organization.
  • Adaptability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple significant activities simultaneously.
  • Upon request and under terms established by the Company, obtain and maintain all necessary state or local licenses for the mutual benefit of the employee and the Company.

Work Environment:

  • Limited travel may be necessary.
  • Availability for evenings and weekends may be required.
