UI/UX Designer/Project Manager/Business Analyst

The ideal candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the development team to design and build a user-centric portal, developing mock-ups of intuitive interfaces, reviewing user experience feedback, and adjusting designs accordingly. They will work with users to understand use cases, update and maintain style guides, and ensure USWDS 3.0 and Section 508 compliant designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the existing public Portal and identify enhancement opportunities
  • Facilitate user groups to gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product owner
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how the Portal functions and looks like
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches, and tables)
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing and identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, and images
  • Comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requirements
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with analyzing large-scale enterprise systems for usability
  • Experience with streamlined screen development
  • Experience with Section 508 Compliance
  • Demonstrated portfolio of design projects
  • Work experience with federal agencies
  • Knowledge of USWDS 3.0
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software tools, like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager and/or Business Analyst, a plus
  • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Excellent time-management skills
