The Senior Analyst position is a newly established role within a rapidly expanding Procurement Department. This is a unique opportunity to significantly influence the transformation of the Procurement function at UniFirst. The Senior Analyst will report directly to the Head of Procurement and will independently manage procurement initiatives that increase in complexity based on their expertise. This role necessitates the capability to lead projects while collaborating across various corporate functions with multiple stakeholders. The position entails a hybrid work arrangement, with an expectation of 2-3 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Analyst will assist in achieving cost savings and contribute to category management through the following tasks:

  • Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers for designated categories
  • Create RFPs that facilitate price discovery and vendor selection
  • Support or spearhead sourcing initiatives under the guidance of the Head of Procurement
  • Negotiate all supply terms and conditions with managerial support
  • Draft and implement supply agreements with input from Legal and relevant stakeholders
  • Oversee the implementation of new agreements and onboarding of new suppliers
  • Investigate and resolve product, service, and supply chain challenges, including issues related to product lead times, availability, quality, and performance
  • Provide ongoing Supplier Relationship Management support
  • Manage vendor price change requests, validate against existing contract terms, assess cost impact, and update vendor pricing on the corporate intranet
  • Conduct procurement research and analytical support for initiatives led by the Procurement Manager
  • Ensure the corporate intranet site is updated with current vendor pricing
  • Maintain the contract database with up-to-date agreement information
  • Regularly monitor raw material price indexes to identify market trends
  • Promptly address product inquiries from field locations and ensure compliance with vendor agreements
  • Provide product allocations to the field as necessary

Reporting to Management:

  • Cost savings, cost avoidance, and performance enhancements
  • Current schedules for sourcing initiatives
  • Opportunities for enhancing supplier diversity, rationalizing suppliers, and SKUs
  • Analysis of vendor usage and trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in Procurement, Consulting, or other analytical roles
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities
  • Analytical mindset
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly intermediate to advanced Excel skills or a strong willingness to learn Excel
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Fluency in English
