Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

IFP Automation is seeking an experienced electrical designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and selecting components for industrial control panels, as well as maintaining up-to-date diagrams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop industrial electrical control panels using CAD software.
  • Select and wire electrical equipment, including VFDs, soft starters, SCRs, relays, and networking equipment.
  • Work with industrial sensors, instrumentation, pressure transmitters, thermocouples, and other transmitters and transducers.
  • Manage Bills of Material for existing and new projects.
  • Correspond with the electrical fabrication shop and perform equipment testing.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers on hardware-related issues.
  • Coordinate project activities with other engineers, vendors, and customers.
  • Produce clear and timely documentation and ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • 3+ years of experience in design and development of industrial control panels.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Experience with industrial sensors, instrumentation, and control systems.
