Position Summary:
The Structural Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and oversight of architectural and engineering (A&E) activities related to significant health infrastructure projects. This position involves leading efforts to restore essential services and ensure the effective management of projects from inception to completion, maintaining adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop project plans, design specifications, and budget estimates while reviewing and approving technical construction designs.
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate project deliverables, track progress, and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including USAID bureaus and international agencies, to align with construction policies and risk management protocols.
  • Identify and manage project risks, implementing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, and guidelines throughout project execution.
  • Create and disseminate infrastructure guidance materials, including training resources and reports.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, objectives, and timelines.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Adapt to dynamic and high-pressure environments, which may require extended hours.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as required by the role.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is essential.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
  • Proficiency in Ukrainian is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure design and project management.
  • Experience with USAID or other donor-funded infrastructure initiatives is crucial.
  • Strong knowledge of USAID construction standards and regulations.
  • Expertise in context-appropriate infrastructure design and management.
