Structural Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Project Manager to join our team at Selectek in the Alexandria/Springfield, VA area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience, including at least 4 years of project management.

Candidates must be able to work freely in the US now and in the future without sponsorship. Salary range is directly relevant to experience and negotiable. 100% paid medical, tuition reimbursement and other excellent perks once direct with the company.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise structural designers and structural engineers
  • Project management, reporting directly to Principals
  • Communicate and coordinate with architects, engineers of other disciplines, and clients
  • Supervise analysis and design of structural systems for all types of building materials using various building codes and standards (i.e. IBC, IEBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, UFC)
  • Participate in field surveys and document existing conditions
  • Review and evaluate existing building structural systems
  • Write technical reports
  • Attend all meetings and conference calls for assigned projects
  • Oversee production of Contract Documents (i.e. Structural Drawings and Specifications)
  • Oversee the review construction submittals, participate in construction observation, and respond to contractor inquiries
  • Schedule staff hours, keep up-to-date on hours spent and cost expended for assigned projects
  • Ability to manage all phases of assigned projects from conception to completion
  • Review design calculations and details of designers and engineers
  • Review scopes of work and prepare fee proposals

Requirements:

  • Able to work freely in the US now and in the future without sponsorship
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (BAE), or Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (BSAE), or equivalent, with coursework specialized towards structural engineering
  • Registered PE and/or SE
  • Experience supervising and mentoring structural designers and engineers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational, time-management, and team skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to be challenged and develop new skills

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree a plus
  • AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, RAM Elements, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, MathCAD
  • Experience with Deltek Ajera
  • Able to obtain a secret or top-secret clearance, if needed
