Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse – Medical/Surgical Unit is a key member of our healthcare team, providing high-quality care to patients in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and document nursing care assessments, interventions, and patient education to stable patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Review assigned patient plans of care and pertinent active orders in the patient electronic medical record prior to providing care.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, nutrition, and hydration according to orders and goals of care.
  • Perform and document focused nursing assessments of assigned patients, including vital signs, pain assessment, skin and wound assessment, functional status assessment, and assessment of drains and ostomies.
  • Administer oral, topical, and inhaled medications, and may administer intravenous medications upon successful completion of NH Board of Nursing approved training and with specific delegation by a Registered Nurse.
  • Apply dressings and assistive devices as indicated by assessment or as ordered by the interdisciplinary team, if applicable.
  • Report relevant assessment findings and suggestions to enhance patient care directly to members of the interdisciplinary team in addition to the supervising Registered Nurse.
Requirements
  • NH Board of Nursing Approved IV Therapy Certification required upon hire or within 6 months.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of NH required.
