About the Role

This is a full-time, home-based position that requires you to work independently in the field, meeting with various businesses to conduct insurance premium audits. As a premium auditor, your primary responsibility will be to review accounting records and conduct thorough interviews to validate the assignment of the insured's business type and associated premium.

You will be responsible for the Charlotte, NC area, with travel expected 3-4 days per week. Your territory may include a radius of up to 60 miles, allowing you to interact with local businesses and establish strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit Requests Review: Thoroughly assess incoming audit requests to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
  • Workload Management: Prioritize inventory and schedule workload effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Customer Communication: Schedule appointments with named insureds to conduct on-site interviews and examine records, ensuring excellent communication and a professional demeanor.
  • Manual Rules Application: Research and apply relevant manual rules and classifications to comply with insurance industry standards, maintaining accuracy and precision.
  • Audit Reporting: Prepare comprehensive written reports that include data analysis, calculations, and classifications, presenting findings clearly and concisely.

  • Education and Experience: A two-year degree in accounting or a related field is preferred, with experience in bookkeeping, payroll preparation, and commercial insurance expertise considered valuable assets.
