Staff Geologist I Job Description

Verdantas is seeking a Staff Geologist I to join our team in Orlando, Florida. As a Staff Geologist I, you will be responsible for performing field tasks, including data collection, measurements, excavation observation, and preparing field notes and related documentation in accordance with company standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fieldwork, including data collection and measurements
  • Prepare field notes and documentation
  • Operate and maintain remediation systems
  • Maintain Excel databases for regulatory compliance
  • Assist with preparing regulatory submittals
  • Oversee well installations and soil borings
  • Collect and analyze environmental samples
  • Retrieve data from online databases and records
  • Enter data into report format using applicable software
  • Apply knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork with some heavy lifting
  • Proficient with MS Office suite of products
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus
  • Previous consulting experience a plus
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for transportation
