Logistics Supervisor

Position Overview: As a Logistics Supervisor at arvato Bertelsmann, you will play a pivotal role in managing and directing daily shipping operations. This includes overseeing the processing of orders through various logistics systems, handling shipping requests, and coordinating with courier and freight services. You will also assist in resolving shipment-related inquiries from clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily order fulfillment through designated logistics and mailing systems.
• Implement changes in shipping procedures as directed by management.
• Arrange pick-up schedules with various transportation providers.
• Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies with carriers.
• Maintain continuous communication with carriers and management regarding shipment statuses.
• Monitor the shipping area to ensure all packages are processed accurately.
• Lead and guide shipping staff while ensuring high service standards and productivity.
• Contribute to process enhancements and adhere to quality management protocols.
• Prepare and validate outgoing mail using internal systems and postal services.
• Perform additional tasks as required to maintain an efficient and organized work environment.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in basic mathematics.
• Familiarity with standard practices and procedures in logistics.
• Able to present information and respond to inquiries from management and other departments effectively.
• Skilled in problem-solving and data analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for reporting.
• Ability to work independently and manage operations with minimal oversight.
• Detail-oriented with the capability to multitask.
• Creativity and innovation in process improvement.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role with a minimum of three team members.
• At least two years of experience in a warehouse or fulfillment environment.
• Ability to operate lift trucks and pallet jacks.
• Physical capability to lift up to 15 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Willingness to stand for extended periods during work hours.

Compensation: $24.25 per hour
