Experience:

Minimum 2 years RN experience, 2 years of medical/surgical experience, 1 year travel experience preferred for travel positions, not required for Per Diem positions

License:

RN License

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS

Must-Have:

BSN required, Telemetry and ventilator experience, EPIC experience highly preferred

Job Responsibilities:
  • Deliver patient care by incorporating the tenets of the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care.
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs using critical thinking skills in patient care management.
  • Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and all members of the interdisciplinary patient care team.
  • Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing; demonstrate effective allocation of material resources.
  • Role model the tenets of Relationship Centered Care through actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside shift Report, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.
  • Use evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
  • Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care; identify and escalate opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement process improvement strategies based on institutional and evidence-based procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research studies.
  • Perform charge nurse duties as assigned; coordinate inventory and supply management.
  • Facilitate patient throughput and document accurately in compliance with hospital, regulatory, and legal standards.
  • Advance clinical competence, project a professional image, and incorporate ethical principles in decision-making.
  • Encourage lifelong learning and innovation for self and others.
  • Participate in shared decision-making through practice councils, committees, and unit initiatives.

This position requires the ability to float to various medical/surgical units as needed, with a patient ratio of 6:1.
