Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a cluster of nurses in Brooklyn DDSO and providing clinical supervision to multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure nursing case management of multiple locations, with a caseload based on medical acuity.
  • Oversee and supervise RNs and LPNs who will supervise the AMAP staff in providing Direct Support Assistants health care per the nurse Act Exemption.
  • Ensure all medical follow-up is done timely.
Requirements
  • Applicants must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
  • Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience, with one year of this experience providing direct services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
  • Master's degree in nursing may substitute for two years of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
