Work Hours: 3rd Shift (Sunday through Thursday - 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM)

Job Summary:

As a Custodian (3rd Shift) - Maintenance Professional with Brotherhood Mutual, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for all employees by ensuring the company's buildings and grounds are well-maintained. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Perform custodial duties on nightly job checklist as assigned, ensuring all areas of the building are clean and well-maintained.
  • Be alert to potential issues such as power failures, temperature changes, and water leaks, and notify the unit leader/manager promptly.
  • Limit complaints to 4 per year, focusing on areas such as recycling, trash, dusting, and vacuuming.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures for preparing and using cleaning solutions, adhering to Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and OSHA training to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
  • Maintain awareness and response to security alarms, door issues, and parking lots while on shift.
  • Complete other projects as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have reasonable hand-and-eye coordination skills to perform manual labor and lift/carry 30 lbs.
  • Must be physically able to bend, reach, and stretch to perform custodial duties.
  • Must be able to handle hazardous materials and read/decipher information on Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have basic computer skills and ability to work well with others.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours set by management when needed.
  • Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood Mutual employees, managers, and department staff members.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some previous custodial experience is desired.
