Job Overview

The Senior Accountant at Hire Point Recruiting plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization. Reporting to the Americas Accounting Manager, this position is integral to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the month-end closing activities, ensuring adherence to all reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, addressing discrepancies as they arise.
  • Document expense transactions and maintain associated schedules to ensure consistency with journal entries.
  • Implement various control measures within a Sarbanes-Oxley compliant framework, as required for a publicly traded entity.
  • Post entries to the general ledger on a weekly basis to accurately reflect the organization's financial transactions.
  • Assist the Americas Accounting Manager in compiling schedules necessary for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Engage in identifying and executing financial process enhancements.
  • Support audit preparations by collecting and organizing required documentation.
  • Undertake additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in managerial accounting or financial management, ideally within sectors such as hospitality, retail, or consumer goods.
  • Professional Background: Experience in public accounting is a plus.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and compliance with regulatory standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley. A CPA designation or progress towards obtaining it is preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel, particularly in managing large datasets, data manipulation, and reporting. Familiarity with accounting ERP systems is essential.
  • Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate is proactive, self-driven, and possesses strong problem-solving skills. They should excel in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
