KIPP New Jersey is a network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools dedicated to preparing students for success in college and life. Our mission is to provide a world-class education to over 11,600 students across 15 schools in Newark and Camden.
We're part of the nationally recognized 'Knowledge Is Power Program' network, which has grown from a single class of 80 fifth graders in Newark's South Ward to educating students in grades K-12 across multiple cities.
Job DescriptionWe're seeking a Supportive Educator for Students with Special Needs to join our team at one of our middle schools in Camden. As a member of our school community, you'll be working closely with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students with daily living skills such as toileting and diapering
- Work one-on-one with students with cognitive learning disabilities to support their individualized education plans
- Provide assistance with programs and activities designed to support students' academic and personal growth
- Maintain accurate records and tracking sheets to monitor student progress
- Speak Spanish and English fluently
- Experience supporting students with daily living skills and cognitive learning disabilities
- Exhibit positive rapport with students and colleagues
