Praxis Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant - Clinical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care, including vital sign measurement, electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures, and administering injections.
- Accurately document patient information and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare examination rooms, restock supplies, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
- Perform EKGs, injections, vaccines, and other medical procedures under supervision.
- Assist with patient discharge, provide after-visit summaries, and complete room turnover processes.
- Stock examination rooms, notify supply personnel when items are low, and complete daily tasks and phone calls.
- Perform other tasks as directed by supervisors or healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution or community college program in medical assisting
- Recent experience as a Medical Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in a medical facility
- Proficiency in EKG procedures, vital sign measurement, venipuncture, capillary blood draws, and administering injections
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain it within 30 days of hire
- Up-to-date health records with necessary immunizations for healthcare work, including Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis
