POSITION SUMMARY
The Middle School English Language Arts Instructor plays a crucial role in fostering a stimulating learning environment. This position is designed for educators who are passionate about nurturing young minds and committed to educational excellence.
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and Principal.
POSITION DETAILS: This is a ten-month, salaried position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The English Language Arts Instructor will be responsible for:
- Developing comprehensive, standards-aligned lesson plans that reflect the Pennsylvania Core standards for English Language Arts.
- Designing engaging class activities, including preparing units and daily lesson plans, selecting appropriate materials, and providing constructive feedback to students.
- Establishing clear learning objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
- Maintaining positive and productive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Facilitating both small group and large group instruction.
- Monitoring and assessing student academic progress.
- Participating in professional development opportunities, including meetings, conferences, and workshops to enhance teaching skills.
- Identifying the educational needs of students and adapting instruction accordingly.
- Regularly communicating with parents regarding schedules, assignments, events, and individual student needs.

QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following:
EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required.
CERTIFICATIONS: A current teaching license for Grades 4-8 in English Language Arts is preferred.
PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES: Candidates should demonstrate initiative, leadership, collaboration, and independent thinking. Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence are essential for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is competitive, reflecting experience and educational qualifications. Additionally, this role may qualify for sign-on bonuses.
