Key Responsibilities
  • Patron Surveillance: Maintain a high level of awareness and vigilance while on duty to ensure the safety of patrons.
  • Chemical Testing and Maintenance: Regularly test and maintain the chemical levels in the pool to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Light Cleaning Duties: Perform light cleaning duties to maintain the pool area and surrounding facilities.
  • Punctuality and Reliability: Demonstrate a strong commitment to punctuality and reliability, ensuring that you are present and ready to work at the scheduled time.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, making quick and responsible decisions to ensure the safety of others.
  • Communication and Record-Keeping: Effectively communicate with colleagues and management, maintaining accurate records of incidents and other relevant information.
Requirements
  • Previous Lifeguarding Experience: Possess previous experience as a lifeguard, demonstrating a strong understanding of lifeguarding principles and techniques.
  • Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification: Hold a current Red Cross Lifeguarding certification, ensuring that you are up-to-date with the latest lifeguarding techniques and protocols.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $15.95. Lewis & Clark College offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan.
