Job SummaryThe Direct Support Professional 1 will provide support and assistance to individuals in Level 1 residential programs, helping them with daily living skills, supervision, and skills training in a home environment and in the community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support and assistance to individuals with daily living skills, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
- Create opportunities for individuals to develop their skills and foster independence, while providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure that services are provided in accordance with DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
- Transport and accompany individuals to medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program, as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including medical, clinical, and financial records.
- Assist individuals in accessing resources and recreational opportunities in the community, promoting socialization and community integration.
- Administer medications according to MAP regulations, as applicable.
- Maintain core training certifications, including FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP, and complete additional mandated certifications and training as required by the program.
- Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree or DSP certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental or psychiatric disabilities, preferred.
