EHSQ Specialist

Kemira is a global leader in sustainable chemistry for water-intensive industries. We are now seeking an EHSQ Specialist to support our Fontana, CA plant in meeting EHSQ targets, ensuring safe and environmentally responsible operations for our employees and the community.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance through procedure development, auditing, and document management.
- Oversee employee training on health, safety, and environmental issues, maintaining detailed training records.
- Coordinate incident analysis, action plan follow-ups to prevent reoccurrence, and maintain document control as per ISO/Corporate requirements using SharePoint.
- Manage the emergency response program and medical monitoring initiatives in line with corporate guidelines and the plant Integrated Contingency Plan.
- Lead the plant's waste minimization and Behavioral Safety Programs, focusing on sustainable options and positive reinforcement.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Environmental, H&S engineering, or similar) and/or equivalent experience in a chemical/manufacturing facility.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and California State regulations is beneficial.
- Lab bench work capability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write and review procedures.
- Ability to successfully time-manage in order to prioritize and complete a variety of competing tasks.
