Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of our underwriting guidelines, documentation requirements, and processing procedures.
  • Work closely with mortgage originators and processors to qualify mortgage loans.
  • Review mortgage loans for creditworthiness and compliance with our underwriting standards.
  • Make approval or denial recommendations for all mortgage applications.
  • Ensure that all mortgages are of investment quality and acceptable for sale to our secondary market conduits.
  • Meet departmental minimum standards, including ensuring department security procedures are adhered to and consistently maintaining the expected level of production.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent and relevant work experience.
  • 2-5 years of mortgage loan underwriting experience.
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs.
