Position Summary
The Security Officer I plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment for both guests and team members at Hard Rock International. Under the guidance of the Security Department leadership, the officer is responsible for providing vigilant security coverage to protect the organization's assets and ensure the safety of all individuals on the premises. A friendly and approachable demeanor is essential, as the officer interacts with guests and assists with various inquiries and emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock as their destination for entertainment; actively build and maintain guest relationships while mentoring team members to deliver exceptional service.
- Ensure secure handling of monetary transfers within the casino and hotel areas.
- Assist guests with diverse inquiries, provide property information, offer directions, and escort them as needed.
- Compile comprehensive incident reports with clarity and precision.
- Conduct regular patrols of the hotel and casino to establish a visible security presence and report any unusual activities or individuals.
- Support the coordination and management of emergency situations.
- Help maintain effective key control measures.
- Exhibit a commitment to responsible gaming and alcohol service by discreetly alerting management to any concerns.
- Demonstrate behaviors that align with the Company's core values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion, and Dedication.
- Respond to and assist with medical emergencies involving guests and team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
(Relevant education and experience may be considered interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.)
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in guest service or a related field. A year of security experience is preferred. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory. Valid EMT certification is also required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must obtain and maintain necessary licenses and certifications as per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- Prior experience in the gaming industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience in Tribal Gaming is advantageous.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Ability to obtain CPR/AED certification and complete Blood Borne Pathogen training.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Availability to work various events with flexible schedules as needed.
- Ability to read and understand all relevant documentation, training materials, and policies.
- Proficient in using a computer to create clear and accurate reports.
- Capable of assisting sick or injured guests and team members.
- Effective communication skills to interact courteously and professionally with guests and team members at all levels.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment such as radios and computers specific to the role.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Clear communication in English with guests in a professional manner.
- Adhere to established policies and guidelines of Hard Rock International.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The casino environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and often crowded and noisy. Officers may encounter environmental factors such as secondhand smoke and excessive noise.
- Officers will be assigned posts that may require standing or walking for the duration of their shifts.
