Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Financial Services will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Libraries, including travel reimbursements, vendor maintenance, purchasing, accounts payable, billing, deposits, statistical and financial reporting, grant paperwork processing, and other related duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer all of the Libraries' financial activities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Supervise the maintenance of accounting, inventory, and property records.
  • Oversee the process of the Libraries' internal management system interface with BuyWays.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to the Libraries' operational and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement financial functions, policies, and procedures.
  • Generate and analyze reports pertaining to budget and expenditures.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean, Administrative Services and HR to ensure effective financial management.
  • Streamline business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulations, industry trends, and best practices in financial management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
  • Four years of experience in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
  • Previous supervisory experience with training, oversight, organization, and assignment of work.
  • Experience analyzing financial data.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated service orientation and skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to use advanced spreadsheet tools, databases, and word processing tools.
