Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Financial Services will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Libraries, including travel reimbursements, vendor maintenance, purchasing, accounts payable, billing, deposits, statistical and financial reporting, grant paperwork processing, and other related duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer all of the Libraries' financial activities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Supervise the maintenance of accounting, inventory, and property records.
- Oversee the process of the Libraries' internal management system interface with BuyWays.
- Provide financial guidance and support to the Libraries' operational and strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement financial functions, policies, and procedures.
- Generate and analyze reports pertaining to budget and expenditures.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Dean, Administrative Services and HR to ensure effective financial management.
- Streamline business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay up-to-date with regulations, industry trends, and best practices in financial management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Four years of experience in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory experience with training, oversight, organization, and assignment of work.
- Experience analyzing financial data.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated service orientation and skills.
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to use advanced spreadsheet tools, databases, and word processing tools.
