Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging department.
Key Responsibilities- Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and general fluoroscopic examinations.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm patient understanding.
- Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
- Identify patients, label images, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Assist and communicate with radiologists to ensure seamless patient care.
- Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient information into the radiology information system.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
- Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
- Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
