Position Title: Early Childhood Educator

Location: Our Children's Place

Reporting To: Lead Teacher/Director

Position Summary: Our Children's Place is in search of a committed and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to become a vital part of our team. The selected individual will be tasked with creating a secure, nurturing, and educational atmosphere for children ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years old. The educator will design and execute developmentally appropriate lesson plans, encourage social and emotional development, and ensure the overall well-being of every child in their care.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Design and Execution:
    • Craft and execute lesson plans that meet state and federal educational guidelines.
    • Utilize diverse teaching strategies, including storytelling, games, and interactive activities to enhance learning.
    • Integrate play-based educational experiences that support cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.
  • Classroom Oversight:
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom setting.
    • Establish and uphold behavioral expectations and procedures for maintaining classroom order.
    • Provide tailored support to students as necessary.
  • Family Engagement:
    • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's development and progress.
    • Conduct parent-teacher meetings to discuss student achievements and any concerns.
  • Professional Growth:
    • Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development activities.
    • Stay informed about the latest educational research and best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in an early childhood educational environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with fellow educators, staff, and families.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and carry children and items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Capability to sit on the floor and engage with children at their level.
  • Perform tasks in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time role with standard working hours.
  • May involve occasional evening or weekend commitments for special events or meetings.
