Position Title: Early Childhood Educator

Location: Our Children's Place

Reports To: Lead Teacher/Director

Position Overview:
Our Children's Place is in search of a committed and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to become part of our team.

The successful candidate will be tasked with creating a secure, nurturing, and educational atmosphere for children ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years old.

The educator will design and execute age-appropriate lesson plans, encourage social and emotional development, and ensure the overall well-being of all children entrusted to their care.


Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Design and Execution:
Formulate and carry out lesson plans that comply with state and federal educational guidelines. Employ a diverse range of teaching strategies, including storytelling, interactive games, and hands-on activities to enhance learning. Integrate play-based learning experiences that support cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.

Classroom Oversight:
Sustain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere. Set and uphold behavioral expectations and procedures for maintaining order. Offer personalized support to students as necessary.

Communication with Parents:
Engage in regular communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's development and progress. Conduct parent-teacher meetings to discuss student achievements and any concerns.

Professional Growth:
Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions. Keep abreast of educational research and best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related discipline. Previous experience in an early childhood educational setting is preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Capacity to collaborate effectively with fellow educators, staff, and parents.

Physical Requirements:
Capability to lift and carry children and items weighing up to 40 pounds. Ability to sit on the floor and engage with children at their level. Perform responsibilities in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Working Conditions:
Full-time role with standard working hours. May require occasional evening or weekend hours for special events or meetings.
