Job Overview

The gpac is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Physician Assistant to join our Family Medicine practice in Burbank, California. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring seamless collaboration with supervising physicians.

In this full-time position, you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, and developing treatment plans. You will also diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including minor illnesses and injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care:
    • Perform patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations.
    • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
    • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including minor illnesses and injuries.
    • Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribing medications, and providing patient education on lifestyle modifications, preventive care, and disease management.
    • Perform minor in-office procedures, such as wound suturing, joint injections, and lesion removals, as necessary.
    • Provide continuity of care, including follow-up care and management of chronic diseases (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, asthma).
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
    • Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare teams to provide integrated care for patients.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary care team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  • Patient Education and Support:
    • Educate patients on health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
    • Encourage adherence to treatment regimens and provide counseling on health behaviors, nutrition, and exercise.
    • Address patient concerns and provide emotional support as necessary.
  • Administrative and Documentation Responsibilities:
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and practice policies.
    • Document patient care encounters, including progress notes, treatment plans, and any changes in medical condition.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with healthcare standards, including HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience:
    • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
    • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
    • Valid Physician Assistant license in the state of California.
    • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
    • Previous experience in Family Medicine or a similar primary care setting is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
