As a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in the respiratory care department, working with the neonatal/pediatric population and collaborating with other departments to provide education on managing patients.

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Pediatric Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric patients, including administering respiratory care procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

As a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care that meets the unique needs of each child.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric patients, including assessing patient condition, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions as needed.
  • Administer respiratory care procedures and modalities, such as oxygen therapy, bronchoscopy, and ventilator management, in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, medicine, and surgery, to provide education on managing patients and promoting effective communication.
  • Educate and instruct patients and their families on respiratory care techniques, disease management, and goal of therapy.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited respiratory care program with a minimum of an associate degree.
  • A valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • An active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or an active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC if received prior to January 1, 2023.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $32.78 - $46.60 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
