Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect equipment for proper functionality and perform general preventative maintenance duties.
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and locate cause of malfunction.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Diagnose equipment operating problems and make repairs, part replacements and adjustments.
  • Diagnose electrical control problems to circuit board as needed.
  • Test devices to analyze performance.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and machining tools.
  • Weld and perform sheet metal operation desired.
  • Perform complex repairs and equipment/control problem diagnosis.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating major equipment repairs and replacements.
  • Remove and install hydraulic lines.
  • Maintain and repair facility equipment and structure as needed.
  • Secure plant facility and grounds in emergency inclement weather situations as needed.
  • Assist departments with moving furniture, equipment, and storage as needed.
Requirements

  • Possess an Associate Degree in Electrical Systems or Industrial Technologies; or a minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Maintenance.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Possess the ability to deal with problems involving limited concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, bar graphs, wiring diagrams, Hydraulic schematics and procedure manuals.
  • Possess basic communication skills using common courtesy.
  • Possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form.
  • Possess basic proficiency in Microsoft Products and Internet Explorer.
Work Environment

This position works primarily indoors in a manufacturing setting with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions which may be hot, cold, humid or dry.
