Maintenance Technician Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician at Home2 Suites East Hanover, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel equipment and facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and replacements to keep our equipment in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and respond to work orders and requests from supervisors and guests.
  • Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and masonry.
  • Maintain all fixtures and equipment according to a preventative maintenance schedule and record such maintenance in a log book.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts, such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in small machines and equipment.
  • Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Clean internal areas of buildings, including sweeping and mopping.
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas, storage areas, and parking lot.
  • Empty trash cans and consolidate trash for weekly pickup.
  • Operate snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Maintain and service pool and spa areas, including testing and recording as stated by State and City regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of key controls.
  • Ensure good relationships with internal and external customers and contractors.
  • Respond to guest requests and complaints in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner.
Requirements:
  • Specialization in technical crafts (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) is preferred.
  • Able to utilize quick thinking and apply quick resolution to hotel maintenance issues.
  • Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Able to work on your own or in teams.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred; two years of college or vocational training in electrical or mechanical engineering or plumbing preferred.
  • Previous facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services experience preferred.
