Position Overview: PCB Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled PCB Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee the quality assurance processes for our Nuclear Medicine products throughout their entire lifecycle. The successful candidate will be tasked with enhancing production performance, managing design and manufacturing collaborations, and ensuring quality standards are met in both development and production settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that completed assemblies comply with drawing specifications and adhere to customer and industry standards, including IPC-610 and J-STD 001.
  • Foster effective relationships with design and production teams to drive improvements in manufacturing efficiency.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration to promote continuous improvement, resolve issues, and mitigate risks.
  • Provide leadership to Quality Inspectors, performing product inspections and conducting audits.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of procedures for the Quality Management System.
  • Identify and spearhead Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Lean Process Improvements and Mistake Proofing strategies.
  • Oversee nonconforming materials, including containment and appropriate dispositioning.
  • Analyze quality metrics to uncover trends and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action processes for hardware and procedural challenges.
  • Review product designs and critical specifications to minimize manufacturing risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a PCBA and Mechanical EMS environment.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Preferred certification as an IPC610 and J-STD 001 trainer.
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with IPC, ISO, and FDA regulatory standards.
  • Proficient in Root Cause Analysis and investigative techniques.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, including DFMEA and PFMEA.
  • Ability to conduct trend analysis and convert data into actionable insights.
  • Skilled in interpreting mechanical drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with First Article Inspections.
  • Proficient in data automation and metric development.
  • Experienced with manual and visual inspection tools.
